Greenhouse Haven is a family-owned company founded on a simple belief: growing food brings people closer — to nature, to their communities, and to one another.

I'm Dr. Angi Yoder Maina — a university professor with thirty years in community development, raised in an Iowa farming community. My husband, Maina, and I have spent the last twenty years building a dairy farm in Kenya, and between his roots there and mine in Iowa, farming has never left either of us. We're a Kenyan-American family with real roots on both sides — a Midwest corn field and a working Kenyan dairy taught us different lessons about the same thing: what it actually takes to grow something well, season after season, without pretending it's easy.

That's given us a perspective most online retailers simply don't have: growing in the heat, not just the cold. Today, home is Tallahassee, Florida — squarely in the heat, humidity, and greenhouse bugs we're teaching other Southern growers to work with.

Most greenhouse advice in this country is written for the North — for stretching a short season and keeping plants alive through frost. In the South, the real work is different: managing heat, ventilation, shade, humidity, and insects. Greenhouse Haven exists to serve the Gulf South first — with products and guidance built for our climate — while offering the same honest expertise to growers everywhere.

Greenhouse Haven is the founding company of Imani Collective LLC. Imani means faith in Kiswahili — and for our family, faith is planting trees whose shade we may never sit beneath.
